Yes...I Built It!

While watching the Republican Convention last night I finished my...

Color Burst Foot Stool Cover !

This is the first time in my life I have ever watched any convention.

I would suggest less "talking heads" and more actual convention coverage...I want to hear the speakers.

I really liked Mrs. Romney's speech - I would be scared to death to get up and talk in front of millions.

Back to my foot stool cover...all I can say is...

"I Built It !"

And I did just fine without any government assistance or regulation.

Others may have inspired me and created the stitches but it wouldn't exist if I didn't put the thought, time and effort into it.

God Bless America!

  1. Your footstool cover looks wonderful.

As for the politicians, well they're the same all over the world. Full of hot air and broken promises.

Mit Romney ... isn't he the candidate famous for his gaffes?

  3. Another beautiful job, Sandy. I still say you should sell some things on Etsy, one of a kind "built by Sandy", made in the good old USA, one of the first 13 states and my personal favorite state, PENNSYLVANIA! xo (PS I did not watch any of the Convention, except what was repeated on the news)

    1. Hi Glor - Nice to hear from you! That's my "Merry Kringle" throw. It's my own design - I didn't use a pattern - it's granny squares in two sizes with a fancy border / edging. I'll write it up for you and send it in an email or maybe I'll do a post on it. I'm terrible about writing down stitches as I go...too lazy sometimes. I also posted about "Merry Kringle" on Ravelry under Teacuplane - more details there on hook and yarn colors with photos.

  5. Nice job! Your colors are very cheery and eye catching! That looks like a nice and cozy crochet corner you have there, too. I keep going back to your original post about this project because I KNOW I've seen that pattern before. It was driving me crazy and I want to make one for myself. I do believe I've found it! Quite possibly, it is the 'Flower Power Pillow' by Linda Permann and it can be found on Ravelry! Can't wait to see what you come up with next. :)

    1. Hi Stephanie,
Thank you for the nice compliments on my Color Burst Foot Stool Cover. I looked up Linda Permann's 'Flower Power Pillow' on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/flower-power-pillow) and it is the same concept as my cover. It looks like Linda may have started her center differently and hers appears to be based on a 12 petal while mine is based on an 8 petal. My inspiration came from By Ilona's beautifully crocheted foot stool cover (http://by-ilona.blogspot.com). Unfortunately Ilona didn't provide a pattern. Thanks for letting me and my readers know about Linda's $ pattern. I wrote down my stitches for the petals as I went along and will be posting them soon on Ravelry.
